I love my family, but I really like this idea of their vacationing without me. It has been cut from a week in Tennessee to an overnight on Skyline Drive, but Morgen is excited anyway. And I didn't have to go. The outdoors is not good for me, I have 3 seperate auto-immune diseases and both the diseases and the treatment are photo-sensitive. Also - bugs LOVE me. The family jokes they don't need bug repellent when I am around - all the bugs will bite me and get full.
They took both good cameras. If I get off the computer there should be enough to get a good picture tomorrow. The pattern is beginning to show up. The color changes are rather wide, but I think it will work out. I just hope it looks as good when I put the last color in (I started with a rye colored background and moved it to moss without swatching the moss). I will have to put a picture of the sample on - you will see how different it looks - not bad - just not as good. I think it would look better with a light background if I could find enough of the right shades of blue or purple - but I couldn't find the colors I needed in Spindrift at Yarns International.
Someday I will be rich and have every color of Spindrift at hand. Then I could swatch to my hearts content and get perfect color schemes.
mg came home with a $15 digital camera for me last night. Actually, I think he just wanted me to have the software - but it does save me borrowing his camera so often. He also bought me a memory card reader - another $15. Now he won't have to do the downloading of pictures for me from his and morgen's camera.
What this means is that you all will get more (and edited) pictures of the work in progress.
I have been so busy with http://www.unemployedfordean.org that I really haven't knit more than 4 rows in 2 days. I will do it soon - My neck won't stand much more staring at the computer - and the site is almost clean. Annie is a creative genius and it is fantastic working with her.
I just realized that the NOW convention is this weekend. People are staying here (I am not going to the convention - I hate crowds). Morgen and mg are going to be out of town for a week - I have to get the house at least sanitary before they show up.
Morgen finally cleaned up the part of the basement that is usually full of morgen droppings (it looked like a teenager's bedroom). We moved my wheel down here now that there is room for it.
I would like to know where all the bobbins are. I know I need more Jensen bobbins - but this is ridiculous - I must be missing 4 or 5 of them. I think robyn has one of them - I could be mistaken.
Is anybody making bobbins that fit Jensen wheels anymore? I need the exercise of spinning - sitting at the computer is doing my shoulders in and I need the exercise for my bum knee. I have a lot of platinum that I really would like to get spun - and i want to get the turquoise off the wheel.
For all of you who asked for pictures of the ribbing from hell - the memory card was corrupted - so the pictures are of about 5 rows into the sweater itself. I don't have a photo editor on this computer - so I will put one on this page and put the other ones in links.
